About Elevated Living

 

Elevated Living, based in Portland Oregon, is a manufacturer and installer of high-end, customizable treehouses fully supported by a tree. Each pre-manufactured treehouse is a fully functional living space with options such as plumbing, electrical, and any other modern-day convenience found in a standard home. Elevated Living is also eco-conscious. Every treehouse is made using green products and building methods.

Schuyler Silva | Owner & Founder

Schuyler has his Master of Fine Arts in Scenic Technology from the University of Illinois. As a Theatrical Technical Director, Schuyler had to engineer and construct scenery which utilized large structural systems. He has over 10 years of building experience from scenery to residential remodeling. Schuyler and Devin came up with the idea for Elevated Living when deciding how to implement their passions for building, the Pacific Northwest (being a Portland native), and modern architecture. In his spare time, Schuyler likes to work on his house, ride his motorcycle, and ride his bike around town.

Eli Green | Designer

Eli recieved his Bachelors of Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University and is also LEED AP certified. He has 10 years in the sustainable design and construction industry. Eli loves trees and designing houses, so designing tree houses is a natural outlet. Combining these loves with his enthusiasm for sustainable living, experiencing the sublime in nature, and helping people create their dreams, Eli is a huge asset to Elevated Living. Being part of Elevated living is a great opportunity to create truly new and novel way to live above ground.

Rebecca Grace | Designer

An east coast transplant, Becca was drawn to Portland for its sense of community, respect for craftsmanship in all aspects of living, and its trees. She received her Masters of Architecture from the Boston Architectural College and a Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University.  Her professional experience ranges from large mixed-use projects to the construction of a neighborhood peace park. Becca believes playful escape is essential to nourishing the soul.

At this time, Elevated Living is not able to provide compensation, but rather individuals to help build the company in their spare time. Compensation will be available in the near future.

Company Description:
Elevated Living is a startup based in Portland. We specialize in premanufactured, eco-conscious, custom treehouses. Currently, there are only a dozen or so professional outfits for treehouses in the country. Every person that I tell about Elevated Living thinks its a great idea. The problem I face is letting people know that treehouses have gone from a simple platform dad builds one weekend to a professional all-in-one service. People don't realize they can go online or call Elevated Living about installing a treehouse.

Position Description & Tasks:
Assist owner/founder with developing a marketing plan, including research into the most effective methods to promote business and the most effective demographics/customer base to target.

Assist owner/founder with developing and disseminating marketing materials.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Marketing or Advertising Management major
Knowledge of and experience in social media
Knowledge of demographic research techniques
Excellent oral and written English language communication skills
Word processing and graphic design skills a plus

Desired Starting Date: Spring or summer term
Duration of Internship: One term
Hours per Week: 10 - 15
Compensation: Unpaid; Academic credit is required.

Academic Credit:
Earning credit is optional when taking a paid internship, but required for all unpaid internships unless the employer is a registered nonprofit or government organization. The availability of credit depends on the work the intern will perform and the approval of a faculty sponsor. There are limits on the types of positions available for credit, and no credit can be provided for work performed in advance of obtaining faculty approval.
